Tiara "Shatakh"

Tiara "Shatakh"

The main focal point of women's traditional clothing in the western Armenian town of Shatakh was the silver caps (թասակ) that would sometimes have dangling trimmings. The caps were worn on the tops of their heads as a symbol of the sun. Often the cap was also seen placed above the headdress. This tiara is our interpretation of the modern cap.
